Red White and Blue Cake
This fun and festive cake will be the hit of your 4th of July party! It’s easy to make and decorate, tastes delicious, and is the perfect way to show your patriotism.
Red, White and Blue Cake
Cake Ingredients
2 boxes of cake mix (We prefer this cake)
3 eggs
1 C Unsalted sweet cream butter
2 C whole milk
Red and Sky Blue gel food coloring
non-stick baking spray
Red, White, and Blue sprinkles
Cake Directions
Preheat oven to 350º
Spray a bundt pan with non-stick spray and set aside
Combine all of the cake ingredients, then mix on medium speed with a stand mixer. Mix until fully combined, about 5 minutes
Divide the batter and pour into 3 bowls
Add red food coloring to one batter portion and mix until combined
Add blue food coloring to the second bowl, then mix until combined
Leave the third bowl of batter without food coloring, or add several drops of this for gorgeous, white cake
Spoon small amounts of each color into the pan, alternating between colors
Once the batter is all added to the pan, bake for 25-30 minutes at 350º
Remove cake from the oven, then check with a toothpick or thin knife to see if cake center is baked
Let cake cool completely in the pan
Once cake has cooled, place a serving plate onto the top of the bundt pan, then flip the pan over so the cake rests on the plate
Vanilla glaze ingredients
2 C powder sugar
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
3-5 tbsp whole milk
1 tsp vanilla
Several drops of white, if desired
Vanilla Glaze Directions
Combine glaze ingredients in a large bowl, mixing until smooth
Scrape the glaze into a measuring cup or a large cup for easy pouring
Decorating directions
Pour the glaze onto the cake
Immediately sprinkle some red, white, and blue sprinkles onto the glaze
Let the glaze harden before serving.
